You guys know by now that I love a theme, but when that theme is my most favorite movie ever, well, I go all in! I basically invented the Jaws party as an excuse to decorate our whole home in Jaws things, to serve fun food and to have friends over and after skipping last year I was very excited to bring this event back!
As luck would have it, I have tons of Jaws items, some I made, some I purchased, some I received as gifts because people know I love Jaws so much, so decorating was easy! I did my annual Quint chalk drawing (if you know, you know) and I planned a fun menu with a little help from my friends of course!
This year's menu included my take on a New England Lobster roll... the Amity Shrimp Roll. The rest of the food were Summer staples - hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, chips etc. We snacked on pretzels because there is a scene where Matt Hooper eats pretzels and there was coffee ice cream per Michael Brody's request when he's in the hospital. The hamburgers I made were 50% mushrooms and 50% lean beef and they turned out pretty yummy I must say! Our friend Sandy brought beans and potatoes and booze of course.
We ate, drank, swam, played shark uno, watched Jaws (of course) talked, laughed. We didn't take as many photos as I usually do for this event but we had a blast nonetheless and I already have some ideas for next year!
What should our next theme party be? We are definitely open to suggestions!!
